Make up post #2

It's been a while since I wrote a blog post last time. Was a little bit busy, but blogging is always in the back of my mind. I always keep thinking about what I can blog in order to express myself. My blog is that part of myself that I dare to share with people around me. The closest ones know everything anyway. Because communication, relationship between people is very important to me. OK, let's not get too far from the topic :) Just wanted to share my latest make up purchases and my personal thoughts on them. Hope to be a bit helpful.

Eyelash extensions

I think everyone who follows my blog have already noticed my obsession with hair and make up. Eyelash extension was a part of my long term plan but I never made up my mind till the last week. I've been following this studio for a while and at last decided to make an appointment with the master. The procedure is long (it took me two and a half hours) and you can not open your eyes during the whole time. The process is about gluing fake lashes (in the length, thickness and curve you choose) to your own lashes, not skin. That is why extensions stand at the same position you natural eyelashes do, and it looks nicer. They use hypoallergenic glue which won't cause any allergic reaction (if you have any).  Pros of extensions are amazing lashes with impressive looks you can throw around, and cons are you can not rub your eyes or sleep your face up the pillow (which I'm used to). Plus they need to be combed everyday :) I was told if I'm careful, then lashes will stay for a month, let's see how it is going to turn out.

Top 8 of my make up bag

There are some products in your make up bag that you consider as treasure, godsend and saviour. I love constantly to buy new products and try them on, but there are a few things that are always going to be there. Because these findings work just perfect for me. Top 8 of my make up collection:

1. Pupa Luminys Baked Face Powder. This is my all time favourite product. And guess what: it's the one and only make up trick I learned from my mom. When I look back I don't think I would use something my mom used, taking into consideration how much attention she pays to make up. But this powder has dense and thick texture and saves you on the days you don't want to use foundation. I use it with Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and get asked which foundation I have used. It's just best you can go with powder.

I use 04 Champagne. But it was too light for me in summer because I got a little bit tanned. I had to slightly cover it with light powder from Pupa in a darker shade. 

Make up post #1

Finally I decided to write a little bit about my make up obsession. I'm not a make up artist or a make up blogger, I'm just a girl that loves make up and experimenting with it or as I call it 'playing with make up as a 4 year old girl'. My main craziness is eye make up, especially eye shadows. But this blog post is going to be about my mascara and foundation collection. Today I discovered that I own 11 mascaras (all of them are relatively new, because I throw them away every 3-4 months), 5 foundations and 17 lipsticks. Not that much for a make up lover to be honest.

one million lovely letters

That moment when you are so down like you have never been in your life yet. And you walk into a bookshop on your way home. After loosing hope to find a book that will fit your current mood you find something that not only will fit your mood, reflect what you are going through but it also will seem like the author is your long lost twin sister that somehow was born and raised in England. Jodi Ann Bickley may not going through the exact same things in her life, her struggles in life are much harder and serious. But emotions people feel in their chest are the same. The book found me (that is what I prefer to think) at the perfect timing, because if I read it couple of years ago I would't relate to it as much as I did. Her uplifting true story called 'One million lovely letters' which is also the name of her online project. This project is about writing to people who need a letter to remind that they are not alone in what they are going through in life, say how special they are and just make a little bit difference in their mood at a very important period in their life. Jodi wants to reach one million mark. The project is still in process. It saved her life, changed for better and she believes it makes changes in others' lives too. I didn't write to her, or received a letter from her. But her book was enough to make me feel better and put a smile on my face. The Fault In Our Stars

When I saw this book in 'Teen Fiction' section I was really upset. Almost 22 year old girl can't be impressed with a novel for teens this much. But I was. Maybe in some ways we all are unsecure teenagers at heart that want their prom miracles come true. Only thing I can say for sure is I fell in love with this book about one of the most tragic problems: kids cancer. But it is not a cancer book as main character Hazel Grace says. It is about life, about death, about love, about frienship, about humor so much needed at hard times, about books that people get affected by, about us. I would really recommend it to read if you have spare time to spend with lovely characters in a very hard situation most of us can't even imagine to be in and brave enough to confront it with jokes in smart dialogues, not forgetting to read in-between.

As you see I tagged lines I liked, but most of smart ones are whole pragraphs and I don't think anyone is patient enogh to read them all, so I'll share with you short ones which just spoke to me or of me :)

This picture is very famous in the internet world. It's a small colorful yard in the centre of London called Neal's Yard. And my friends used to ask me if I've been there. So finally I decided to visit this place and take some photos...

To Kill A Mockingbird

It is a big pleasure at last to reach the book you wanted to read for a long time. And it is a bigger pleasure when the book apeears to be delightful. This time it was 'To Kill A Mockingbird' by Harper Lee. It's been awhile since I have read a book like this one. It reminded me the books from my childhood: kind, warm, cozy atmosphere that teaches you a lot. Unfortunately we don't understand the message quite well when we are kids. So I highly recomment to re-read it as an adult to get the whole story in details and more clearly, because it is definitely worthy. There is the whole point of mockingbird that unfolds in front of you throughout the whole book. It is impossible to put it into few words or sentences. The feeling after the reading is hope and joy. Hope for a better life, for better people, for better world. Joy because you start believe that you can be a better person. The way that a little girl understand the world and interperts it is amazing. You remember yourself as a kid and your fears, games, happiness, tastes come to your mind. Doesn't it worth to go back in time and feel yourself a child reading 20th century american classic novel?

'To Kill A Mockingbird' delivers some important messages. Let me put them into quotes from the book:

Looking For Alaska - John Green

There are books that are considered classic and need to be read by everyone or books that are temporary, people read them today and forget about them tomorrow or books that are quite new to be considered classics and too good not to be remembered tomorrow. 'Looking for Alaska' by John Green is a book that people read today, young readers love it, quote it. Apparently it spoke to their hearts. Can't say anything about tomorrow, you never know. The book is about a boy, which doesn't have any friends changing his school to a private one and gets new friends there. Simple and cliche storyline you say, like any other teenage movie. But the thing about this book is, it talks about important things from the prespective of a teenager, that is making his first steps in this world with its ups and downs, gets to know the good and the bad. How a teenager interprets religion and applies it to his life. I don't know, but there are sentences that explain you, just the way it is. Like the author was in your head once. Like anonymous said on tumblr: '...it sometimes feels as though they were written with us in mind'. Ran into a lot of quotes by John Green on tumblr and decided to begin with this book of his, regret nothing :) I like to follow people's taste and try to understand why they love something, what for.
