rebel inside me

I don't even know where this love came from. Just a few pictures and first movie with him and that was it. His appearance and personality which I discovered through books and few interviews  are magnetic. It doesn't let you stay ignorant towards him. You just fall in love and idolize him, exactly what the world did with his figure after his early death. Even after 60 years he is current as he was then. The icon of rebellion and a person with his own rules of life preceded contemporary. Incredibely talanted actor, that was gone at a very young age of 24. World only witnessed him shining in 3 motion pictures but he stayed in minds of people forever.
Forever young James Dean.

His movies: East of Eden, Rebel Without A Cause, Giant. The most popular is Rebel without A Cause (1955), kind of a turning point in american movie history. After this movie his character Jim Stark and James Dean himself became icons of rebellion. His co-star was a young bright star Natalie Wood.

His way of acting was very different from the type that was common at the time. He was natural, felt every emotion himself before conveying it to those, on the other side of the camera and really lived the lives he played on screen.

My favourite movie of him is the Giant, where he plays a life of a poor boy in love with his master's wife which eventiually becomes rich on oil. His co-stars: legendary Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hundson. Amazing pperformance of James Dean throughout 3 hour movie and the storyline won't let you get bored. I watched this 1956 movie twice and you have no idea how excited I was watching it for the second time. I loved every second of it.  Every video, every screencap makes you fall in love with him more and more.

This is the only movie where we can see old James Dean, while no one ever saw him get old in real life due to his tragic death. The movie was released after his death and he was nominated for Academy Awards.

His greatest love: Pier Angeli. “We were like Romeo and Juliet, together and inseparable. Sometimes on the beach we loved each other so much we just wanted to walk together into the sea holding hands because we knew then that we would always be together. It wasn’t that we wanted to commit suicide. We loved our life, and it was just that we wanted to be that close to each other always. “ - Pier Angeli. Even after several marriages she admitted that the only man she truly  loved was James Dean.

Besides acting James Dean was interested in many things like dancing, statuary, car racing etc. His biggest hobby was car racing and everything related to it and he even took part in car races. JD had and iconic Porche 550 Spyder which he named "Little Bastard". He was driving the same car when the tragic event happened. On the 30th of September 1955 he was driving along Route 466 with a mechanic Rolf Wütherich preparing the car for races in California, when his car crashed with Ford Tutor coupe head-on. James Dean was hurt most and died in an ambulance car. The driver of the coupe and Rolf Wütherich both survived. It was a death that will never be forgotten, that made him immortal and his whole personality was a huge impact on 50s' youth.

This photo is on my comp wallpaper which has never been changed since I  got it  year and a half before.

Just an amazing person but sadly with a short life worth to be remembered. An icon.

perfect moment has been captured during a screen test for The East of Eden with  Lois Smith

For those, who has never seen his movies before, I highly recommend to watch at least Rebel Without A Cause and then the Giant (which I love more). You will never regret to get to know him through the parts he played. That's all of my boring and long post :)
